about the NBR Study Group
The North British Railway Study Group was formed in 1978 by a group of enthusiasts keen to learn about, and record the history of all aspects of the locomotives, rolling-stock, infrastructure, people and operations of the North British Railway, its constituents and successors.  The aims of the Study Group are to promote interest in the NBR from its earliest days to the present, to make record of its activities and contributions to the social and industrial life of Scotland, to co-ordinate and publish the researches of its members, and to accumulate knowledge, information of all sorts, photographs, drawings and records.   In addition, it aims to disseminate accurate information about the NBR within the Group and to assist and encourage the building of models of specific locations, locomotives and rolling stock.
